Panel structure

  • Each panel will last 90 minutes. The chair will begin by briefly introducing the panel topic and the paper presenters. Each presenter will then have the opportunity to present their paper (10-15 minutes; the exact timing depends on the total number of papers). Following the presentations, the discussant will provide a set of reactions and comments (approximately 10 minutes total), addressing each paper.
  • Presenters will then have the opportunity to respond to the discussant’s feedback before the floor is opened for questions from the audience. The chair may choose to collect all questions in one round or split them into two rounds to allow for more in-depth responses.
  • Paper presenters are welcome to use PowerPoint slides if they wish.
  • This is the general structure we recommend, but chairs are free to adapt the format for example, by allowing more time for presentations and less for Q&A, depending on the panel’s specific needs and dynamics. Chairs should inform paper presenters and the discussant about the structure ahead of the panel.

Deadline to share the papers among the members of your panel: 6 May 2025, 23:59 CET
